Adding Color to Your Bathroom

If you think that your bathroom needs some change, it perhaps just needs to be added some color to give it a fresh look. Painting your bathroom with a new color is an excellent as well as cost effective way to give it a new look and change the ambiance. Transforming a bathroom by changing its color scheme was never easier not only due to the countless choice of paint colors but also due to virtually countless color combinations. Which color to choose depends on several factors including the things you already have in your bathroom such as the bathroom cabinets, sink, bathtub, shower, etc. as well as its size because improper choice can make a small bathroom appear even smaller. Dark colors such as brown, black and dark blue, for instance, make rooms look smaller and you should seriously consider opting for lighter colors if having a small bathroom because colors such as white, yellow, light green, etc. will make it appear bigger.

The existing bathroom features play an important role in choice of paint color as well because the right color will compliment the things in your bathroom and give it a refreshing look at the same time. You have two options when combining paint color with the existing bathroom features. You can either choose a color or multiple colors that match with the color of the fixtures or opt for contrasting colors which is currently very trendy. Dark and vivid colors, for instance, will give a dramatic look to your bathroom if your fixtures are white or lightly colored, while lighter contrasting colors will create a more calming and relaxing ambience. Which option to choose in the first place depends on the atmosphere you want to create.

Adding color to your bathroom, however, does not have to end at painting. If you have decided to give your bathroom a completely new color, you can emphasize its new look by buying few accessories such as towels or shower curtain, for instance, that match with the new paint color.
