Since there are many decorative tile designs in the market today, it can be hard to design a bathroom backsplash theme but if you plan carefully and have the right layout, you can succeed in your home decoration initiative. Bathroom backsplashes are different from the kitchen backsplashes in two ways. First, the bathroom backsplashes may be set above the vanity and be part of the wainscoted tiled that is set three and half to four feet high. Secondly, bathroom backsplashes can be part of a tiled wall. On the other hand, kitchen backsplashes are generally pinched between the cabinetry and the countertops.

When selecting a tiling contractor for your bathroom, there are certain things that you need to put into consideration. backsplash bathroom1 Bathroom Tile BacksplashFirst, you should be wary of contractors that propose to install the shower or floor with glue or mastic. Nowadays, it is an incompetent practice to install rile in a wet place with glue or mastic. You may only use mastic or glue in places where the water is not falling directly or a place that is not horizontal like the floors or the top of the whirlpool deck. In addition, you should be wary of contractors who want to install green board on wet areas like the tub or shower because this amounts to incompetence.
Installing a bathroom tile backsplash is an easy way of updating or changing completely the look of your bathroom. Tile is the best option to choose as it is cheap and   thus will give you a relieve when you want to remodel your entire space. backsplash bathroom2 Bathroom Tile BacksplashThe process of installing the backsplash is easy even if you do not have previous tiling experience and you can even complete the installation in a single afternoon. By following the steps below, you will find out that the installation process is easy and requires no previous experience whatsoever.

The first step when installing the bathroom tile backsplash is to figure out the total area of the space you want to tile. You do this by measuring the width and length of that space and then you have to multiply the numbers together. You should not work on the exact number but you have to add 10% that will cover for the breakages and mistakes. Select your favorite tile that will reflect the new design style that you would like to see in your bathroom. backsplash bathroom3 Bathroom Tile BacksplashTiles come in different forms as stones, ceramics, or metal finishes and they come in many varieties, colors and shapes.

The second step is to make sure that the wall is dry and clean and by using a trowel, you spread a thin coat of mastic, place the tile into the mastic, and ensure that the tile settles properly on the mastic. You then need to add spacers around the edges of the tile so that a consistent space is maintained between the tiles. Tiles that need to go around electrical appliances need to be cut by using the tile saw or nippers.

Tile is one of the best ways in the world to do something different with your bathroom, regardless of its size. There are, as you’ve shown here, a lot of different designs available, things that just blow my mind. I am still undecided as to how we will approach our bathroom remodeling when we get to that part of our lives, but the one thing I know for sure is that tile will play a significant role in the final design.
